Updating the Firmware with the Camera

You can update the firmware directly with the camera by connecting it to a wireless router in the client mode. A wireless router connected to the Internet is required.

  1. When a memory card is inserted in the camera, turn off the power of the camera, and then remove the memory card.
  2. Connect the camera to the wireless router.
  3. Tap [Update firmware] on the camera setting screen.
    • The confirmation screen is displayed.
  4. Tap [OK].
    • The firmware update screen is displayed.
  5. Check the current version and latest version, and then tap [Update].
    • The camera may restart several times depending on the content of the update.
    • When the update is completed, the confirmation screen is displayed.
  6. Tap [OK].

Note

  • When the blue is displayed to the right of [Update firmware] on the camera setting screen, you can update the firmware to a newer version.

Caution

  • When the battery level of the camera is low, charge the battery before updating the firmware.
  • Do not disconnect the connection between the camera and the wireless router while downloading the firmware.
  • When the storage space of the camera internal memory is insufficient, you may not be able to download the firmware. Secure the storage space of about 3 GB in the camera internal memory before updating the firmware. To check the free storage space in the camera internal memory, remove the memory card from the camera, and then connect the camera to the computer with a USB cable.
  • The communication costs will be borne by the user.
